IMD Alert! Meteorological Department issues red alert of fog for 4 days in these 4 states, schools closed

IMD Update: Due to fog, zero visibility was recorded at Delhi’s IGI Airport till 7 am today (29 December), due to which many flights were delayed. 11 trains are running late.

Red alert of fog in these four states

The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert regarding fog for the next four days in UP, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi. There is also a possibility of rain in many areas of North India on 30th and 31st December, which means problems are going to increase. At the same time, snowfall is also expected on the mountains on New Year.

Cold day alert today:

  • Due to dense fog and cold, schools up to class 12th in Noida have been closed till 30th December.
  • Classes from nursery to eighth are also closed in Meerut and Ghaziabad.

Temperature of Delhi and Noida: Today the minimum temperature in Delhi and Noida can be recorded at 11 degrees and the maximum temperature can be recorded at 21 degrees Celsius.

Very dense fog in these states: There was dense fog in the states of North India in the morning around 5:30 am today.

  • Dense Fog: Very dense fog recorded in isolated parts of Jammu-Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, UP, Western Rajasthan
  • Moderate to dense fog: Moderate to dense fog observed in isolated parts of Delhi, East Rajasthan
  • Light to moderate fog: Light to moderate fog observed in isolated parts of Western Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Bihar.
