IMD Alert: These states may have to face severe cold after heavy rains, Check the condition of your state

The Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of severe cold this time. Due to this, extreme cold conditions can be seen in some states.

IMD Alert: The country experienced severe heat this year and now heavy rains are continuing. However, if you are waiting for the winter to become normal, then you are wrong. At least this is what the India Meteorological Department (IMD) estimates. The Meteorological Department estimates that this time India will experience exceptionally cold weather. They have pointed to the onset of La Nina in September this year, which has predicted a significant drop in temperature across the country and an increase in rainfall.

The Meteorological Department estimates that the country will experience severe cold due to La Nina. La Nina usually begins between April and June. It strengthens between October and February and can last from nine months to two years. It is driven by strong easterly winds that push sea water westward, cooling the sea surface. This is the opposite of El Nino, which brings warm conditions.

These states may have to face severe cold

Extremely cold conditions can be seen especially in hilly states like Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir. It is being speculated that the temperature here can potentially fall to 3 degrees Celsius.

It is also feared that cold weather and excessive rain can affect agriculture. This especially includes areas that depend heavily on winter crops.

This time the rainy season has been extended

The effects of La Nina are being felt. The monsoon season usually ends in September, however this year it is being extended. This is related to the cooling of the sea, which has disrupted the normal weather pattern and has led to heavy rainfall, especially in southern and central India.

The Meteorological Department has asked people to prepare for winter by having adequate heating, stocking up on essential supplies and staying updated with weather reports.

La Nina affects the world, know how?

During La Nina, the sea surface temperature in the tropical Pacific region drops below normal. After this, the easterly winds become stronger, causing more cold water to accumulate over the equator of South America. That coolness affects the atmosphere in a way that resonates across the planet. During La Nina, some areas become stormy and others become dry. La Nina means girl in Spanish. Its cold effect affects the global climate, including severe cold in many areas.

This forecast of the Meteorological Department increases concern about climate change. It reminds us to understand climate change and take important steps regarding it. As the effect of La Nina is becoming more evident, people and communities need to be extra cautious.
