Monsoon Reaches Kerala IMD Confirms: Monsoon has covered most parts of Kerala and many parts of the Northeast. In the next 3-4 days, it will cover the entire Northeast apart from Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
Monsoon Reaches Kerala IMD Confirms: The Meteorological Department has officially announced that the southwest monsoon has reached Kerala. Usually the monsoon reaches Kerala on June 1, but this year the monsoon has arrived three days before its scheduled time. IMD scientist Dr. Naresh Kumar said that after assessing all the conditions, today we have announced the arrival of monsoon in Kerala.
He said that the monsoon has covered most parts of Kerala and many parts of the Northeast. Kumar said that in the next 3-4 days, parts of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka as well as sub-Himalayan West Bengal and the remaining northeastern states are likely to be covered. Let us tell you that the normal date of arrival of monsoon in Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur and Assam is June 5.
Meteorologists said that Cyclone Remal, which passed through West Bengal and Bangladesh on Sunday, has pulled the monsoon flow towards the Bay of Bengal, which may be a reason for the early arrival of monsoon in the Northeast. According to the data of the Meteorological Department, Kerala was receiving heavy rains for the last few days, resulting in more than normal rainfall in May.
Apart from this, the Meteorological Department has expressed hope of some relief in Northwest India and National Capital Region due to Western Disturbance and has predicted drizzle and thunderstorm soon. IMD said in a statement that there is a possibility of relief from scorching heat during the next two-three days due to the coming western disturbance, rain or storm and the drop in temperature due to the southwest wind blowing from the Arabian Sea towards Northwest India.
For the last few days, the entire North-West India is in the grip of heat wave, where the maximum temperature in Churu, Rajasthan crossed 50 degree Celsius.
