IMD has issued a severe cold alert in these states; Know the weather condition

Meteorological Department has issued an alert of severe cold in North India. Temperatures in Himachal Pradesh and Kashmir have reached minus 10 degrees. Dense fog may prevail in UP.

IMD Alert: Cold wave continues to hit many states of North India. Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Punjab, Telangana, Odisha and Delhi are experiencing severe cold. The effect of snowfall in the mountains is being seen all over North India. On the other hand, the capital Delhi is facing a double whammy of cold as well as pollution. The air quality has reached the very poor category. In such a situation, GRAP 4 has been implemented.

Temperature dropped below freezing point

The temperature has dropped below freezing point in many places in Himachal Pradesh and Kashmir. The lowest temperature was recorded at night in Lahaul Spiti, Himachal Pradesh. Here the mercury reached minus 10.6 degrees. The minimum temperature of Srinagar was recorded at minus 3.4 degrees.

Weather of the capital Delhi

According to the Meteorological Department, cold wave conditions will continue in the capital Delhi. There is no possibility of rain at the moment. However, movement of clouds may continue. According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 4.1 degrees on Monday night. This is the fourth time that the temperature has gone below 5 degrees in December.

The Meteorological Department says that the weather will remain dry in the hilly areas and light snowfall will continue. The minimum temperature may be very low on 21 and 22 December. There will be no relief from cold wave for the next three days.

Weather of Rajasthan

The minimum temperature was recorded at 0.4 degrees in Fatehpur, Rajasthan. Severe cold wave was recorded at some places. Night temperatures were below 10 degrees at most places. Churu recorded a minimum temperature of 1.5 degrees, Alwar 2.2 degrees, Sikar 2.5, Sangaria and Pilani 2.7, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh 3.7 degrees. At least 15 districts in Odisha recorded temperatures below 10 degrees. The lowest temperature in the state reached 1 degree in Mayurbhanj district.

Talking about Punjab and Haryana, the cold wave situation will continue here as well. The temperature of Faridkot and Hisar reached a minimum of 0.6 degrees. At the same time, the maximum temperature of Chandigarh was recorded at 26 degrees, which was two degrees more than normal. The minimum temperature in Ludhiana and Patiala was recorded at 3.6 degrees. Talking about Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, the cold wave situation will continue here. An alert has also been issued for dense fog in eastern Uttar Pradesh. Apart from this, there is a possibility of frost in many places.
