IMD has issued alert of heavy rains in 21 states for 5 days, know condition of your state

The IMD has predicted heavy rains accompanied by lightning in parts of Andhra Pradesh for five days. This will also be accompanied by strong winds with a speed of up to 40 km per hour (kmph).

Monsoon Rain Return: India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light to moderate rains in Uttarakhand, Delhi, western Uttar Pradesh for the next five days. Monsoon is likely to remain active in peninsular and central India. According to IMD, at present the monsoon line is passing through the centre of the low pressure area over Jaisalmer, Kota in Rajasthan, Guna in Madhya Pradesh and South Odisha. Apart from this, a low pressure area persists over South Odisha and its adjoining areas.

According to the IMD, moderate to heavy rains are likely over Konkan and Goa on July 18 and 19, while over Madhya Maharashtra and coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana and Tamil Nadu between July 18 and 20. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for these states.

The Meteorological Department has said in its forecast that light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning is likely over Goa, Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during the next 5 days. Apart from this, the IMD has also predicted light to moderate rains over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar and Jharkhand.

According to the IMD, sporadic to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning is likely over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and East Rajasthan during the next five days. Heavy rainfall is likely at some places over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and West Rajasthan during the next 5 days.

Rain alert in Delhi

After the start of the week with rain in Delhi, the weather remained humid on Tuesday and the maximum temperature was recorded at 38.4 degrees Celsius, 3.2 degrees above normal. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has given this information. According to the IMD bulletin, the relative humidity was between 80 to 56 percent. The Meteorological Department has predicted generally cloudy sky and moderate rain on Wednesday. The maximum and minimum temperature is likely to be around 36 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is likely to be around 25 degrees Celsius.

According to the IMD’s seven-day forecast, there will be a ‘yellow alert’ in the capital for the next two days. In the IMD color code, it means “be cautious”.

Safdarjung, the city’s primary weather station, recorded 2.7 mm rainfall in 24 hours from 8:30 am on July 15 to 8:30 am on July 16. The capital’s Ridge recorded 37.2 mm, Palam Observatory 31.8 mm, Delhi University 38 mm and Pusa 35 mm.
