IMD has issued an alert of heavy rain for 3 days in these states, know the weather condition

9 Sept Weather: There are chances of heavy rains in Odisha, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. IMD has said on Sunday that heavy rains may occur at many places in Odisha in the next 3 days. Red alert has been issued in those five districts where rain is already occurring in many parts.

IMD Alert: The weather system forming in the Bay of Bengal is going to cause heavy rains in many states of India. IMD i.e. India Meteorological Department has informed on Sunday that the depression is about 150 km south-southeast of Puri, 180 km east-southeast of Gopalpur, 190 km south of Paradip, 250 km south of Chandbali, 240 km east of Kalingapatnam in Andhra Pradesh and 350 km south-southwest of Digha in West Bengal.

After crossing the coast between Puri and Digha by Monday afternoon, it is likely to move towards Jharkhand and adjoining north Chhattisgarh during the next two days, the IMD said in a bulletin.

Where will it rain today

There are chances that due to this, there may be heavy rains in Odisha, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. IMD has said on Sunday that heavy rains may occur at many places in Odisha in the next 3 days. The Meteorological Department has issued a ‘red alert’ in five districts of the state, where it is already raining in many parts.

On Monday, there will be heavy to very heavy rains (seven to 20 cm) at isolated places and extremely heavy rains (more than 20 cm) at some places in Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Cuttack, Dhenkanal districts. The Meteorological Department has issued a ‘red alert’ for these five districts. IMD has also predicted rain in many districts of the state on Tuesday and Wednesday.

An ‘orange alert’ has been issued for Ganjam, Koraput, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Bargarh, Boudh, Sonepur, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Sambalpur, Angul and Nayagarh districts for Monday.

Authorities have issued a ‘yellow alert’ for Gajapati, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Bhadrak districts.

Heavy rains are expected in the southern parts of Bengal including West Medinipur, Jhargram, Bankura, Purulia, West Bardhaman, South 24 Parganas, Hooghly, Nadia, Murshidabad and Birbhum districts till September 12. The Meteorological Department said that light to moderate rains are also expected in Kolkata and its surrounding Howrah and Hooghly districts.

What is the situation of other states

Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam may receive light to moderate rain on September 9. Also, there are chances of torrential rain at many places. Southern parts of Chhattisgarh may face heavy rain on Monday. Also, there are chances of rain in northern parts till September 10 i.e. Tuesday. Light to moderate rain will occur in many areas of Telangana.

Heavy to very heavy rain may occur in southern parts of Jharkhand on September 10-11. At the same time, there are chances of light to moderate rain in Vidarbha on Monday.
