IMD Weather Rain Forecast: The India Meteorological Department has predicted light rain in Delhi. Heavy rains have been forecast over North Interior Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh on September 25. Widespread light to moderate rains are expected over Konkan and Goa, Gujarat region, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada over the next two days.
New Delhi: Monsoon is now on its way back. In such a situation, the period of heat and humidity has started again in many states including Delhi-NCR. Everyone has the same question in their mind whether it will rain now or not. According to the Meteorological Department, people suffering from heat and humidity may get some relief. Rain is expected tomorrow i.e. on 26th September in many states including Delhi-NCR, UP, Rajasthan, Odisha, Maharashtra. Rain may also occur in many other places including North Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh. In the next two days, light to moderate rainfall is expected in Konkan and Goa, Gujarat region, Central Maharashtra and Marathwada.
Clouds will rain again in Delhi
Good news for Delhiites suffering from heat and humidity. Had to face heat on Wednesday morning. The minimum temperature in the morning was recorded at 26.8 degrees Celsius, about three degrees above normal. However, tomorrow i.e. on 26th September, the Meteorological Department has predicted light rain throughout the day. This is expected to bring down the temperature. The IMD indicated that many areas will remain cloudy and light rain or drizzle is possible. At 8:30 am on Wednesday, the humidity level was recorded at 84 per cent, according to the IMD website. The maximum temperature is expected to be 36 degrees Celsius on Thursday.
‘Yellow’ alert for rain in Himachal
The weather has remained mainly dry in Himachal Pradesh for the last three days. 23 roads in the state are still closed for traffic. The local Meteorological Department said on Tuesday that there was a 21 per cent decrease in rainfall in the current monsoon season from June 1 to September 24. Himachal Pradesh received 573.70 mm of rain as against the normal 723.10 millimeters (mm). The weather has remained mainly dry for the last two days. However, a rain warning has been issued in Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur districts tomorrow i.e. Thursday. Along with this, a ‘yellow’ alert has also been issued for thunderstorms and lightning at different places in six out of 12 districts of the state.
Heavy rain forecast in Odisha
Due to the effect of the low pressure area formed over the Bay of Bengal, heavy rains are likely at most places in 20 districts of Odisha for the next few days. The India Meteorological Department has predicted torrential rains (7-11 cm) with thunderstorms at isolated places in 20 districts of the state on Thursday. Under the influence of cyclonic circulation over central Bay of Bengal, a low pressure area has formed over west-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining northwest coasts of North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha. As a result of the effect of cyclonic circulation, heavy rains are likely in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati till September 26. Apart from this, thunderstorms may occur at isolated places in Nuapada, Kandhamal, Kalahandi and Rayagada, the bulletin said.
Rain alert in many districts of Bengal
Due to the low pressure area formed over the Bay of Bengal, light to moderate rain may occur at most places in West Bengal during the next two or three days. Heavy rain is also expected in some areas. The Meteorological Department has also warned of landslides in sensitive areas of Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts. Due to the low pressure area, heavy rains are expected in many districts of South Bengal till September 26 and in North Bengal by the next day. Heavy rains are likely in the districts of North and South 24 Parganas, Purba Medinipur, Murshidabad, Nadia, Birbhum, Hooghly, East and West Bardhaman, Bankura, Purulia and Jhargram of South Bengal during the period till September 26. Heavy rains are expected in Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Malda, Alipurduar, North and South Dinajpur and Cooch Behar districts of North Bengal till September 27. While very heavy rainfall may occur at isolated places in the sub-Himalayan districts of Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar.
Rain is also expected in these areas
Konkan and Goa, Gujarat region, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada are expected to receive widespread light to moderate rainfall over the next three days. Thereafter, scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall is expected over the entire region for the next four days. Similar rainfall is also predicted over Saurashtra and Kutch throughout the week. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and strong winds along with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall are also likely on September 25. Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh are expected to receive widespread light to moderate rainfall over the next three days, while scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall is expected over the subsequent four days. Similar rainfall is also forecast over Madhya Pradesh throughout the week. Over the next seven days, widespread light to moderate rainfall is expected over Northeast India and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.
