IMD has predicted heavy rains in 10 states, know the weather of your state including Delhi

IMD Weather Update: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of very heavy rains in 9 states including Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, while heavy rains are expected in 10 states including Jharkhand, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh and Himachal Pradesh.

Rainfall Alert 2024: With the beginning of the month of Sawan, rain has once again increased the trouble in many states. But, despite this, the period of heavy rain has not started in the national capital Delhi yet. On Monday, it rained in some parts of Delhi (Delhi Rain), which has brought a lot of relief from the humid weather. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert of very heavy rain in 9 states on Tuesday (23 January). Along with this, there is an alert of heavy rain in 10 states.

How will the weather be in Delhi today?

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a forecast of light to moderate rain with thunder in Delhi. The Meteorological Department said, ‘There is a possibility of light to moderate rain, light thunderstorms in Delhi. Along with this, winds are also likely to blow at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. Earlier on Monday morning, Delhi witnessed humid weather and the minimum temperature was recorded at 29.2 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees above normal. The relative humidity level was 84 percent at 8.30 am. According to the IMD, even today the maximum temperature may remain around 29 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature may remain around 36 degrees Celsius.

Heavy and very heavy rain alert in these states

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of very heavy rain in 9 states, which include Goa, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan. Along with this, the IMD has issued an alert regarding heavy rain in 10 states, which include Karnataka, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Manipur.

Schools will remain closed in Dehradun on Tuesday

It continued to rain in various places of Uttarakhand on Monday, while the Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of heavy rain in Dehradun on Tuesday, in view of which the administration has ordered to keep all the schools across the district closed as a precaution. According to the information received from the Dehradun Meteorological Center, 52 mm of rain was recorded in Dehradun, while 98 mm of rain was recorded in Laksar of Haridwar district. The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of heavy to very heavy rain with thunder and lightning at some places in Dehradun district on Tuesday. In view of the weather department’s warning, Dehradun District Magistrate Sonika has issued orders to keep all government and private schools from class 1st to 12th closed on Tuesday.

Alert in Rudraprayag due to heavy rains

After the Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an alert of heavy rains in Uttarakhand, the Rudraprayag district administration has appealed to the pilgrims going to Kedarnath Dham to be extra cautious and not to travel in heavy rains. Ukhimath Deputy District Magistrate Anil Kumar Shukla has appealed to the pilgrims reaching Kedarnath Dham to start the journey only after taking information from the local administration and the weather. He said that due to heavy rains in the month of Shravan, stones are falling on the travel routes at many places, in such a situation it is not appropriate to travel in view of safety. There is a possibility of stone falling in places like Cheerbasa, Gaurikund and Lincholi on the Kedarnath walking route. Apart from this, there is a possibility of stone falling near Doliya Devi Temple at Fata on the Rudraprayag-Gaurikund National Highway. In such a situation, he has appealed to everyone to travel with caution. Also, he has appealed to start the journey only after contacting the District Disaster Management Office. IMD has issued rain warning in many states including Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh. Very heavy rainfall is expected in Himachal Pradesh on 22-23 July.

Many areas of Mumbai received 200 mm rainfall in 24 hours, NDRF deployed

Many places in Mumbai recorded more than 200 mm rainfall in the last 24 hours till 8 am on Monday, due to which local train services were disrupted for a while during peak hours between Kalyan and Thakurli station. In just one hour between 6 am and 7 am, some areas recorded up to 34 mm rainfall. The BMC claimed that the automatic weather station located in the city recorded more than 200 mm rainfall in many places during the 24 hours till 8 am. Officials said that three teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been deployed to deal with any situation in the city amid forecast of heavy rains and high waves in the sea in Mumbai and its suburbs.
