IMD Rainfall Alert: Amidst the knock of pink cold in North India, there may be heavy rain today in many places including Kerala, Tamil Nadu. IMD has issued a heavy rain alert in Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. The Central Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert of rain in Pathanamthitta, Palakkad till Sunday. At the same time, a yellow alert has been issued for Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, Kollam, Idukki, Malappuram.
Winds with heavy rain
Heavy rain is expected in all these places. There is a possibility of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm of rain in 24 hours. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be heavy rain with thunder at some places, while strong winds may blow at a speed of 30, 40 km per hour at some places.

Temperature will drop in North and East India due to rain
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in Tamil Nadu and Kerala and Mahe. However, a slight decrease in rainfall can be seen after November 1. Rain may gradually decrease the minimum and maximum temperatures in North and East India. The temperature may remain 2-3℃ during November 3 to 7.
Rain forecast and warning across the country
Heavy rainfall may occur at isolated places over Konkan and Goa, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe, coastal Karnataka during the last 24 hours. Rain is likely due to the cyclone present in the Gulf of Mannar. Light to moderate rain at some places, rain with thunder and lightning at some places.
Heavy rains also occurred in Kerala in the past days
Heavy rains were also recorded in many parts of Kerala in the month of October. Due to which there was waterlogging on the roads and traffic was also jammed. Due to this people had to face a lot of trouble. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued an ‘Orange Alert’ in eight districts of the state on October 25. The IMD had initially issued an ‘Orange Alert’ for the day in Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki and Thrissur districts. By afternoon, ‘Orange Alert’ was also issued in Pathanamthitta, Kollam and Alappuzha districts of the state.
