Delhi’s climate
It is extremely hot in Delhi these days. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert of heat wave in Delhi-NCR till May 28. There is a possibility of strong winds during this period. According to IMD, the maximum temperature of Delhi can remain between 44 to 46 degrees Celsius this entire week. The minimum temperature is likely to be between 30 to 32 degrees Celsius.
Weather condition of the country
According to weather forecasting agency Skymet, during the next 24 hours, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain and thundershowers with heavy to very heavy rain at some places over Kerala, Coastal Karnataka, Lakshadweep, Andaman Nicobar Islands and South Tamil Nadu. Whereas light to moderate rain is possible in Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, some parts of Bihar and East Jharkhand, Sikkim, Northeast India.
Apart from this, light rain is possible in Western Himalayas, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Odisha, Vidarbha, Marathwada, South Konkan and Goa and South Madhya Pradesh. Heat wave may occur in Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
Seasonal activities of the country
According to weather forecasting agency Skymet, conditions are becoming favorable for the advance of monsoon in parts of the south-east Arabian Sea, Maldives, Comorin region and Nicobar Islands in the next 24 hours. At the same time, low pressure has formed over the south-western Bay of Bengal. It may move in a north-westerly direction and turn into a depression by the morning of May 24 and may further intensify.
Apart from this, a circulation has formed over the interior part of Tamil Nadu which extends up to 5.8 degrees above sea level. An area of cyclonic winds has formed over Haryana and surrounding areas. A trough is extending from this cyclonic circulation to Marathwada via West Madhya Pradesh. Cyclonic circulation is persisting over East Bangladesh.
At the same time, a trough is extending from the cyclonic storm over Haryana to eastern Bangladesh via Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Gangetic West Bengal. A cyclonic circulation has formed over North Kerala. A cyclonic circulation has formed on the northern coast of Andhra Pradesh.
