At the same time, heatwave conditions are going to persist in Eastern India and Southern India till May 3. Apart from this, there is going to be severe heat in Maharashtra and Gujarat for the next five days and in Central India between May 3 and 5, due to which a heatwave alert has been issued.

Talking about the weather of the last 24 hours, heatwave conditions were observed in Gangetic West Bengal. At the same time, heat wave also occurred in Bihar, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Gujarat, Konkan etc. The highest temperature recorded yesterday was 47.2 degrees Celsius in Kalaikunda. Heavy rains also occurred in Arunachal Pradesh and Assam.

Regarding the coming days, the Meteorological Department has said that there is going to be heavy rain in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya on May 1 and 2, and in Nagaland, Manipur, Tripura on May 1 to 3. At the same time, a new western disturbance is going to hit North-West India on May 3. Due to this, an alert of rain, snowfall and thunderstorm has been issued in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh between May 3 and 6.

At the same time, if we talk about the plains of North India, there is a possibility of rain, thunderstorm and lightning in Western Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan between May 4 and 6. Rain can definitely provide some relief from the heat. At the same time, strong winds have been predicted in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi from May 1 to 3.

Talking about South India, there is going to be light to moderate rain in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana. At the same time, there is a possibility of rain in Telangana, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, South Interior Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe between May 5 and 8.
