IMD Rain Alert: Heavy rain warning in these states, possibility of hailstorm and thunderstorm

IMD Rain Alert: An alert has been issued for light to moderate rain after thunderstorms in some other states like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Himachal Pradesh. At the same time, heat wave has been predicted in Gujarat and Rajasthan. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rains.

IMD Rain Alert: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heat wave, heat wave and torrential rain in different states of the country. Rain warning has been issued in the national capital Delhi and surrounding areas. Apart from this, an alert has been issued for light to moderate rain after thunderstorms in some other states like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Himachal Pradesh. At the same time, heat wave has been predicted in Gujarat and Rajasthan.

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rains in Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Rajasthan, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Telangana. According to the IMD, heavy rains are expected in Uttarakhand, Bihar, Kerala, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh next week. Also, heavy rains are expected in Assam and Meghalaya during the next four days.

There will be hailstorm at one or two places in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand and eastern Madhya Pradesh. Meanwhile, strong winds will blow at a speed of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Rajasthan.

Talking about South India, light to moderate rains with thunder, lightning and strong winds at a speed of 40 kmph are expected in Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Telangana and Karnataka during the next 2 to 3 days.

IMD Forecast

– The Meteorological Department has warned that hailstorms may occur again in Jharkhand on April 15. There may also be thunderstorms and moderate rain.

– The sky will be partly cloudy in most parts of Delhi-NCR on April 13-14. There is no possibility of heat wave in Delhi till April 15.

– The IMD said that heat wave is expected at some places in western Rajasthan on April 14 and 15. While there is a possibility of severe heat wave at some places between April 16 and 18. At the same time, heat wave is expected at some places in Gujarat between April 15 and 17.

– Thunderstorms and strong winds have been predicted in the Gangetic plains of West Bengal. Similar weather is expected in parts of Jharkhand, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya.

– IMD further said that Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, East Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh may also face heat wave conditions from 16 to 18 April. While severe heat wave may occur in some parts of East Rajasthan on 18 April.

– Severe heat to extreme heat conditions are expected in many areas of Western Rajasthan from 16 to 18 April. People are advised to take necessary precautions to avoid heat-related illnesses.

– Scattered to light to moderate rains with thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds (40-50 kmph) are expected over Northeast and adjoining East India during the next 7 days.

– Hailstorm is expected at some places over Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh on 14th April. While hailstorm may occur at some places over Jharkhand on 15th April.
