IMD Rain Alert: The weather is going to deteriorate in many states including Bihar from tonight. There may be heavy rain with thunder and lightning in UP and Uttarakhand also.
IMD Weather Rain Alert: The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in many states including Bihar, Jharkhand and Assam from the night of March 25 (Holi). IMD has also predicted light rain and snowfall in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand in the coming days. During this period, hailstorm may also occur in the Himalayan states. There may be rain with lightning in Punjab and Haryana.
The Meteorological Department in its evening bulletin informed that a cyclonic circulation is located over and around North East Assam and a trough is extending from North East Madhya Pradesh to South East Assam at lower tropospheric level. Due to this, there is a possibility of light rain with thunderstorms in Arunachal, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura and Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim from March 25 to 26.
Rain with thunder in Bihar and Jharkhand
There is a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places over Sub-Himalayan Bengal and Sikkim on 25th and Assam and Meghalaya on 25th and 26th March. Light to moderate rain with thunderstorm and lightning may occur over Gangetic West Bengal on March 25 and 26 and over Bihar and Jharkhand on March 25. The IMD said the fresh depression has largely moved along Long in the form of a trough in the middle and upper tropospheric westerly winds.
Rain in Himalayan states also
There will be light rain and snowfall with isolated thunderstorms over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad during March 27 to 29 and Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand between March 28 and 29. There is also a possibility of hailstorm in Himachal on 28th and 29th. There is a possibility of light rain and lightning at isolated places in Punjab and Haryana on March 28 and 29.
There may be rain in East Rajasthan on March 28 and West UP on March 29. Western Himalayan region may be affected due to fresh western disturbance.
