IMD Rain Alert: Amidst the severe cold in North India, the rain continues in the south. The Meteorological Department has said on Thursday that a low pressure area has formed in the Bay of Bengal, due to which heavy rains are going to occur in coastal Andhra Pradesh on December 20. Apart from this, there is a rain alert in many states. At the same time, cold wave is likely to blow in Northwest India for the next five to seven days. Apart from this, a new Western Disturbance will knock in the western Himalayan region and plains from December 27, due to which the weather will change.

Rain warning in these states
The Meteorological Department has informed that there will be heavy rain in coastal Andhra Pradesh on December 20. At the same time, there is an alert of moderate rain in Odisha, coastal Gangetic West Bengal on December 20 and 21, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura on December 20-24, Assam, Meghalaya on December 21-23.
According to the Meteorological Department, in the last 24 hours, the minimum temperature in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh was recorded below zero degree, while in Uttarakhand, Punjab, Chandigarh, Delhi, Rajasthan it was between three to six degrees Celsius. Apart from this, the minimum temperature in UP, Bihar and Central India is between six to 12 degrees Celsius. The lowest temperature in the plains today was recorded at 2.6 degrees Celsius in Adampur, Punjab.
Talking about the states of North West India, there will be no major change in it in the next three days, but after that it may increase by two degrees Celsius. At the same time, there will be no change in eastern India for the next four days and after that it will fall by two to three degrees Celsius. Not only this, the minimum temperature in Maharashtra and Central India will increase by two to three degrees Celsius during the next five days.
