IMD Rainfall Alert: Heavy rain alert in many parts of the country from February 26, know the weather condition

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), a new western disturbance will be active from February 25, which will cause rain and snowfall in many states. Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand may receive heavy rain and snowfall. Apart from this, light to moderate rain is also expected in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. The effect will be seen in North India as well as Northeast and South India. There may be rain in Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh, while Tamil Nadu and Kerala may also receive rain.

This change may cause the temperature to drop in many places, which is likely to increase the cold. Weather experts say that people will need to be alert in the coming days, as the weather may change suddenly.

Rain and snowfall alert in North India

The effect of the western disturbance will be seen most in the hilly states of North India.

Jammu and Kashmir: Possibility of heavy rain and snowfall between 25 and 28 February.

Himachal Pradesh: Chances of snowfall and rain between 26 and 28 February.

Uttarakhand: Heavy rainfall and snowfall expected on 27 and 28 February.

Apart from this, this disturbance will also affect the plains, due to which light to moderate rain is expected in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan between 26 and 28 February.

Possibility of temperature fluctuations

According to the IMD, the maximum temperature in North-West India may increase by up to 2 degrees Celsius during the next 24 to 48 hours, but after that the temperature is likely to fall by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius.

Central India: The temperature will remain stable in the first 24 hours, but after that it may increase by 2 to 4 degrees.

Weather will also change in Northeast and South India

The Meteorological Department has also warned of change in weather in many parts of Northeast and South India.

Northeast India: There is a danger of lightning and thunderstorms in Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh. Hailstorms may also occur at some places.

South India: Chances of rain with thunderstorms in Gujarat, Konkan-Goa and coastal Karnataka.

Tamil Nadu and Kerala: Possibility of rain with thunderstorms.

Andaman and Nicobar Islands: Heavy rain alert issued.

Major weather activities and seasonal systems

According to weather experts, many seasonal systems are active across the country at this time, whose effect can be seen on a wide scale.

Western Disturbance: Present in North Pakistan and adjoining areas, while another Western Disturbance remains in North Iran.

Cyclonic circulation: Active in eastern Assam, which may lead to heavy rains in northeastern states.

Trough system: Extended from Gangetic West Bengal to South Chhattisgarh, which may lead to light to moderate rains in these areas.

Weather forecast for the next few days

Heavy rain and snowfall will occur in the western Himalayan region between February 26 and March 1.

Light to moderate rain is possible in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh from February 26 to March 1.

Chances of light rain in western Uttar Pradesh between February 27 and March 1.

Light rain may occur in some parts of northern Rajasthan on February 27 and 28.

Today’s weather forecast

According to the IMD, light to moderate rain will occur in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands today, while heavy rains are also expected in some areas. Apart from this, rainfall may also occur in Sikkim, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. At the same time, light rain may occur in some areas of Jammu and Kashmir and northwestern Rajasthan.

The Meteorological Department has advised people to remain alert, especially in those areas where warnings of heavy rain and thunderstorms have been issued.
