Weather Today: There are chances of light or moderate rain at some places in Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand between 6th to 9th April. At the same time, there may be rain in Bihar on 7 and 8 April.
Weather Update: The first week of April is going on and the mercury is high in many states. On Wednesday also, there are chances of heat wave in some parts of many states including Karnataka, Jharkhand, Odisha. However, the latest prediction of India Meteorological Department i.e. IMD is indicating some relief. There are chances that light rain may start in many states from the end of this week.
According to the forecast released by IMD on Thursday, there may be light rain at some places in Central Maharashtra between April 5 and 9. Also, there are chances of rain in Konkan and Goa, Marathwada, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe between 6 to 10 April. At the same time, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam may receive rain between April 7 and 9.
Hot and humid weather is expected to continue in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Coastal Karnataka, Konkan and Goa till April 7. There are chances of heat wave in some parts of eastern and peninsular India during the next three days. The Meteorological Department has predicted hot nights in Odisha and North Interior Karnataka during April 4 to 6, Chhattisgarh on April 4 and 5 and Vidarbha on April 5 and 6.
There are chances of heavy rain and snowfall in Arunachal Pradesh from April 4 to 7. Heavy rain has been predicted in Assam and Meghalaya on April 5. According to the Meteorological Department, ‘fairly widespread to moderate rainfall with isolated thunderstorm and lightning is expected over Arunachal Pradesh. Light to moderate rainfall is expected over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during the next seven days. ‘
