The Meteorological Department says that heavy rains will continue in Goa for the next few days. Mumbai received 176 mm of rain on Tuesday morning. At the same time, the IMD has issued a heavy rain alert. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for rain in Goa and Karnataka. Moderate to heavy rains are expected here on July 11 and 12.
Red alert for rain in Mumbai
The Mumbai Center of the IMD on Tuesday issued a ‘red alert’ for the city, forecasting ‘heavy to very heavy rains at some places and extremely heavy rains at isolated places’. Therefore, the local body declared a holiday in schools and colleges in Mumbai on Tuesday. The Meteorological Department uses four colors to issue weather alerts in the country. Heavy rains will occur in Madhya Pradesh
Due to the active southwest monsoon, rain has been continuing in many places of Madhya Pradesh for the last few days and rain warning has been issued at many places today also. According to the scientists of Meteorological Center Bhopal, due to the active southwest monsoon in the state and weather systems formed at different places, rain occurred at many places including Betul, Bhopal, Ujjain, Khajuraho, Mandla and Umaria in the state during the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, heavy rain occurred at some places, while light to moderate rain was recorded at some places. In the capital Bhopal, light to moderate rain occurred throughout the day amid sunshine and shade yesterday. Due to this, there was relief from humidity.
The capital Delhi will get relief from the heat
The minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 27.2 degrees Celsius on Tuesday and the Meteorological Department has predicted generally cloudy sky and light rain during the day. The humidity was recorded at 84 percent at 8.30 am. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 33 degrees Celsius.
Rain alert in these states
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain in Meghalaya, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Manipur, Mizoram, Maharashtra, Karnataka. Apart from this, heavy rain is also expected in Uttarakhand on July 9. Heavy rain may occur in Tehri, Pauri, Bageshwar, Almora, Nainital and Champawat districts on July 10.
