IMD Weather Updates: The weather is about to change in different states of the country. Fog and cold winds have indicated cold. Due to western disturbance, dense fog conditions prevail in the northwestern states of the country. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), a low pressure area is likely to form in the southwest Bay of Bengal in the next 24 hours, due to which heavy rains are expected in many areas of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and South Karnataka.
The IMD has forecast heavy rains in Tamil Nadu from November 11 to 17 and in Kerala from November 13 to 17. Similarly, rain is expected in Andhra Pradesh from November 11 to 14 and in southern Karnataka from November 13 to 15. Apart from this, the weather in the western Himalayan region may be affected due to western disturbance from November 14. Dense fog will prevail in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh of North India, where visibility may be very low.
Threat of heavy rain in South India
The Meteorological Department has warned of thunderstorms and lightning along with rain in various parts of South India. Moderate to heavy rains are expected especially in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Rayalaseema, and coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh.
Air pollution crisis in Delhi-NCR
There has been a slight drop in temperature in Delhi-NCR in the last 24 hours. The maximum temperature in this region is between 30-32 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is between 14-19 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department has predicted smog, light fog and mist in this region in the next four days. There is a possibility of smog increasing in Delhi in the morning and night, which may affect visibility. There may also be light to moderate fog in the morning, which may cause traffic disruptions.
