IMD Rainfall Alert: The heat is increasing rapidly in North India these days. An increase in temperature is being recorded from the mountains to the plains. Meanwhile, there are many states in the country where warnings of rain, hail and thunderstorms have been issued. The weather is going to deteriorate here from today. Apart from this, it will rain at a speed of 50-60 kilometers per hour. According to the Meteorological Department, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh are going to receive heavy rain, strong winds and hailstorms from today. During March 20-22, many parts of Central, East and Northeast India will receive thunderstorms, lightning, strong winds and hailstorms.
Scattered light/moderate rain with thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds (speed 30-50 kmph) are likely over Bihar on 21st and 22nd March, over East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh during 19-22nd March, over West Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal on 20th and 21st March and over Vidarbha on 21st and 22nd March.

Apart from this, scattered to widespread light/moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds (speed reaching 40-60 kmph) is very likely over Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha during 19-22 March and then it will reduce. Apart from this, hailstorm is very likely at some places over East Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal on 21 March, Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha during 20-22 March, Bihar on 21 and 22 March and Jharkhand on 20 and 21 March.
Scattered to scattered light/moderate rain with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds (speed reaching 30-50 kmph) are very likely over Assam and Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during the next 5 days. Hailstorm warning has been issued at some places over Assam and Meghalaya on 20 March.
