IMD Alerts: There is no hope of getting relief from the severe cold in many states of North-West India including the country’s capital Delhi, NCR states Haryana, UP, MP, Rajasthan.
Weather Forecast Today: There is no hope of people getting relief from the harsh cold and dense fog. Dense to very dense fog and cold day conditions are likely to persist in some areas of Punjab, Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Western and Eastern Rajasthan for the next 24 hours. Today, on the night of January 7, there is a possibility of light rain at one or two places in Western Madhya Pradesh and Eastern Rajasthan. Light rain and thunderstorm have also been predicted at different places in many states on January 8 and 9.
According to the India Meteorological Department, due to dense fog in different areas of Punjab, Haryana, Western Uttar Pradesh, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Western Rajasthan and Eastern Rajasthan till 8.30 am on Sunday (7 January). Visibility level was recorded from 25 to 50 meters. There is a possibility of visibility record of less than 50 meters at some places. There are chances of getting relief from dense fog after January 10.
According to IMD, during the next 24 hours, dense to very dense fog and cold day conditions may persist in some areas of Punjab, Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Western Rajasthan and Eastern Rajasthan. After this, i.e. from January 9, there is hope that there will be some relief gradually from the dense fog and extremely cold days. There is a possibility of light rain in some areas of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, UP, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh during the night of 8 January and morning of 9 January.
Hail and thunderstorm forecast
Apart from this, according to meteorologists, there is a possibility of thunderstorm along with hailstorm at different places in North-West and Central India, Eastern Rajasthan and Western Madhya Pradesh. There is also a strong possibility of rain on 8th and 9th January. Thunderstorm has been predicted in Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh on the night of 8th January and 9th January.
There will be heavy rain in Tamil Nadu and Kerala
Light to moderate rain has been predicted in southern peninsular India. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with heavy rain at some places in Tamil Nadu during the next 4 days and Kerala for the next 2 days.
Heavy rain forecast in coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh
In Tamil Nadu, on January 9 and 10, there may be heavy rain in the southern area and light rain in the northern part. There is a possibility of heavy rain at one or two places in the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema on January 8. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for this.
According to meteorologists, there is a possibility of light rain at one or two places in Western Madhya Pradesh and Eastern Rajasthan on the night of 7 January. On January 8, there may be light rain at one or two places in Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and Western Uttar Pradesh in the afternoon or night. At the same time, on January 9, light rain and snowfall is expected at two places in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
