Weather Updates: According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and strong winds at different places in Northeast India on April 23 and 24.
IMD Rainfall, Weather Updates: People are in distress due to heat wave and summer heat in different states of the country. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), heat wave conditions are likely to continue in eastern India. Heat wave conditions will persist in parts of South Peninsular India during the next five days. Apart from this, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and strong winds at isolated places in Northeast India on 23 and 24 April.
It will rain in these states
Light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning at a few places over Assam and Meghalaya, Kerala and Mahe and at isolated places over Punjab, West Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal and Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha. It is likely to happen. There is a possibility of light rain with thunderstorm over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.
There is a possibility of scattered rainfall with thunder, lightning and strong winds (30-40 km per hour) in Punjab and Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi on 23rd, 26th and 27th. Rainy conditions persist in East Rajasthan on 26th April and Uttar Pradesh on 23rd April. There is a possibility of scattered hailstorm in Punjab and Haryana on 26 and 27 April.
How will the weather be in the hilly states?
Light to moderate rainfall and snowfall is observed at many places in Arunachal Pradesh. Whereas rain has been predicted at some places in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan and Muzaffarabad. The Meteorological Department has issued the possibility of light rain at different places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
People of these states will have to face heat wave
Severe heat wave conditions are likely to persist in parts of Gangetic West Bengal. Heat wave conditions persist at isolated places in Odisha, Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Heat wave conditions have persisted in Odisha since April 15 and in Gangetic West Bengal since April 17. There are chances of strong winds in interior Karnataka, Telangana, Jharkhand, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha.
