Weather Update: Light to moderate rain with gusty winds at isolated places is likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during the next 5 days.

IM Weather Update: The Meteorological Department has given relief news amid the scorching heat. Strong winds are likely from Bay of Bengal to Northeast India on May 5 and 6 due to isolated cyclonic circulation over Northeast Assam and Himalayan West Bengal and at lower tropospheric level. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, during the next few days, people are going to get relief from the heat in many states including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi-NCR, Assam, Sikkim, Manipur.

IMD has said that light to moderate rain with gusty winds is likely at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during the next 5 days. During this period the wind speed can be 40-50 km per hour. The Meteorological Department has said in its forecast that on May 5 and 6, there is a possibility of very heavy rainfall at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

It will rain in Himachal Pradesh also

Furthermore, a Western Disturbance is seen as a cyclonic circulation over Iran and adjacent Afghanistan at lower tropospheric level. Due to this, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh on May 4 and 5.

Weather will change in Haryana-Punjab also

There is a possibility of light rain at isolated places in Haryana, Chandigarh and Punjab today. Apart from this, strong surface winds are also likely over Uttar Pradesh, South Rajasthan and Haryana as well as Delhi. During this period the wind speed can be 30-40 km per hour.

There will be relief from heat in Bihar also

The Meteorological Department has said in its forecast that there may be light rain with thunderstorm and lightning in Odisha and West Bengal during May 4-6. Thereafter, widespread rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning is likely during May 7-10. Scattered rainfall with thunder and lightning is likely over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand between May 6-10.
