IMD Weather Update: India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave warning in six states of the country. At the same time, an alert has also been issued for rain during the next few days in eight states. IMD has said that heat wave conditions will persist in Odisha and West Bengal till April 21. At the same time, there is a possibility of heat wave in Jharkhand and Maharashtra today for the next three days. Also, alert has been issued in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Puducherry till April 19.
IMD Director Manorama Mohanty said, “Talcher recorded 43.2 degrees Celsius. Temperatures above 41 degrees Celsius have been recorded in 18 cities. This record in Bhubaneswar is 41.7 degrees Celsius. The temperature in Cuttack was recorded at 41.5 degrees Celsius.” IMD has issued a severe heat warning in Odisha till April 19 and in West Bengal till April 21.

The IMD weather bulletin further said, “A cyclonic circulation lies over northeast Bihar and adjoining Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim as well as northeast Assam. Due to this, rainfall is predicted over the north-eastern states. .
Light to moderate rain is likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura till April 21. There are chances of heavy rains in Arunachal Pradesh till April 21. Similar weather will prevail in Assam and Meghalaya till April 21.
