IMD Update: Heavy rain alert in dozens of states including Delhi-NCR; storm will blow at a speed of 40 KM

The IMD said that light to moderate rains with thunder and lightning may occur in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on February 19 and 20. Such conditions may persist till February 23 at some places.

Weather Updates: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast for the next few days. According to the IMD, a cyclonic circulation is formed at the lower troposphere level over northeast Assam. Due to this, sporadic to light rain may occur in Arunachal Pradesh during February 19-24. At the same time, there is a possibility of rain in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal and Sikkim during the next 7 days.

IMD has said that there may be rain with thunder and lightning in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on February 19 and 20. During this time, winds can blow at a speed of 30-40 km per hour.

At the same time, a western disturbance in the form of a cyclonic circulation is located over Jammu and adjoining areas. Its circulation extends up to southwest Rajasthan.

IMD said that light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning may occur over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on February 19 and 20. Such conditions may persist in some places till February 23.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of sporadic light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning in eastern Rajasthan on February 19. Light rain may also occur in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi on February 19 and 20. According to the Meteorological Department, strong winds may blow in western Uttar Pradesh on February 20, western Rajasthan on February 19. During this time the wind will blow at a speed of 40.

The IMD also said that a trough lies in the lower tropospheric levels from Jharkhand to South Odisha. Under its influence, scattered light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning is likely over West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha during February 19-22.

The weather department says that minimum temperatures are likely to increase by about 2-3 degrees Celsius over northwest India during the next 48 hours and fall by 2-3 degrees Celsius during the subsequent 2 days. No significant change in minimum temperatures is likely over the rest of India during the next 4-5 days.
