The department said that there is a heat wave alert with hot weather in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, eastern Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Goa, Delhi and Gangetic West Bengal.
