IMD Weather Update: Cyclonic storm Michong is looming in the southern state of Tamil Nadu, due to which the Meteorological Department has issued a warning of rain, storm and lightning for Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

Weather Update Today: Cold has increased after rain in many states of the country. The rain that started in Delhi-NCR from Sunday night continued till Monday morning, after which the weather here also became quite cold. On the other hand, heavy rains in Chennai have disrupted normal life. The Meteorological Department has issued warnings of rain, storm and lightning for Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

According to the Meteorological Department, today i.e. Monday (December 4), the maximum temperature is likely to be 25 degrees and the minimum temperature is likely to be 9 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature is going to remain around 25 degrees Celsius in the coming days. Along with this, there will be fog in Delhi-NCR in the coming days. IMD has also predicted dense fog in Delhi from December 5 to 9. The minimum temperature recorded here on Sunday was 10 degrees Celsius, which is one degree more than the average for this season.

Delhi’s air quality remained in ‘very poor’ category on Sunday. According to government data, the 24-hour average air quality index (AQI) of Delhi was recorded at 310. AQI between zero and 50 is considered ‘good’, AQI between 51 and 100 is ‘satisfactory’, 101 and 200 are ‘moderate’, 201 and 300 are ‘poor’, 301 and 400 are ‘very poor’ and Between 401 and 500 are considered in the ‘severe’ category.

Where will it rain today?

According to Skymet Weather, light to moderate rain is possible over south-eastern Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, parts of Uttar Pradesh, interior Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar Islands today. Heavy rains continue in Tamil Nadu due to the impact of cyclonic storm Michong. After the recent rains here, normal life has become disrupted, due to which NDRF teams rescued 15 people. The low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal transformed into cyclonic storm ‘Michong’ on Sunday. In view of the cyclone, South Central Railway has canceled 144 trains.
