According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), the effect of western disturbance active for the last 2 days will remain till June 2. After this, the period of rain will reduce but dusty clouds will remain in the sky, due to which a humid atmosphere will be created. According to IMD, the month of May proved to be cool in Delhi-NCR. The average temperature of this month (Weather Update Today) remained around 40 degree Celsius. The maximum temperature reached 43.7 degree Celsius only on 1 day, 22 May. During this, heat wave will also not last for long. Whereas in May last year, the temperature remained above 40 degree Celsius for 20 days and the maximum temperature had crossed 45 degree.
Rain in these states in the next 24 hours
According to private weather agency Skymet, in the next 24 hours (Weather Update Today), there may be light to moderate rains in Western Himalayas, parts of Punjab, South Karnataka, coastal parts of Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and Lakshadweep. On the other hand, light to moderate rain and dust storm can occur in some parts of Haryana, Rajasthan and Delhi. Light rain is possible at one or two places in West Uttar Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh and northern parts of Gujarat, South Madhya Maharashtra.
Rivers in spate in this state

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of light to moderate rain and hailstorm in the state till June 2. There has been heavy rain in many places in the state, due to which the rivers are seen to be in spate. The Meteorological Department has appealed to the people living on the banks of the river to be alert. Also warned that there may be light snowfall at high altitude places. At the same time, strong winds can blow at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour in the plains.
