New Delhi: There is important news for customers who have an account with the country’s national bank PNB (Punjab National Bank). After the recent bank merger, the checkbook and IFSC codes of the Oriental Bank and United Bank customers have changed, so customers can use their old checkbook now till June 30. Information about this has been given by tweeting from the bank.

Let us tell you that the Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC-Oriental Bank of Commerce) and the Union of India (UNI-United Bank of India) have been merged with Punjab National Bank. After the merger of banks, customers’ checkbooks and IFSC codes have changed, due to which customers need new checkbooks.

PNB tweeted: While
giving information on Twitter, Punjab National Bank said that customers can use the old checkbook of the bank till June 30, 2021. You should get a new checkbook made by the 30th or else you might have problems later. PNB says that customers of both banks should apply for new check book as soon as possible.

The check book of OBC and UNI is still valid till 30 June 2021. With this, the bank said, the check already issued by the OBC, UNI will be valid only till June 30, 2021. New IFSC and MICR issued PNB has issued new IFSC and MICR to both these bank customers. In such a situation, if a customer has not yet received this information, then he will have to give information about it by SMS to the bank.


Customers can send SMS to 9264092640 by writing UPGR <Space> <last 4 digits of account number> from their registered mobile number. Apart from this, toll free numbers 1800-180-2222 and 1800-103-2222 of PNB can also be contacted. PNB can also be contacted through email. For this, the account holder will have to mail to care@pnb.co.in.
