What is PF Account Number?
PF account number is called alphanumeric number. It has some special information in both alphabets and digits of English. This number contains the details of the state, regional office, establishment (company) and PF member code.
What is an alphanumeric number?
For example,
XX – State code
XXX – Area code
1234567 – Establishment Code
XX1 – Extension (if any)
7654321 – Account No.
Every employee has a UAN?
Every member of EPFO has a Universal Account Number (UAN). It is different for every employee. There are different PF accounts when the employee changes the company. But, the UAN account is only one. In one UAN, you can see the details of your different PF.
Check PF Balance through SMS
EPFO subscribers can also check their account balance by giving SMS and missed call from their registered mobile number. For this, you have to type EPFOHO UAN in the message box and send it to 7738299899. Your EPF balance will be known on your mobile. Apart from this, you can give a missed call on 011-22901406 from the registered mobile number.
