IMPORTANT! Now apply PAN-Passport from Ration Shops, also pay these bills

Now water, electricity and other utility bills will be paid from the ration shop. For this, the Food and Public Distribution Department (DFPD) has tied up with CSC e-Governance.

Now you will be able to apply for PAN-passport from the ration shops of the Public Distribution System. Along with paying electricity and water bills. The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution has signed an agreement with CSC e-Governance Services India Limited (CSC) to increase the income of ration shops. The ministry has said in its statement that ration shops will be developed as CSC service centers.




Apart from ration, utility bills like electricity, water will soon be paid at the ration shop. Along with this, documents like PAN card, voter card, passport will be able to work and apply. In order to increase the influx of ration shops, the Food Ministry has appointed CSC e-Governance Service India Ltd. has entered into an agreement with.

According to an official statement, the Food and Public Distribution Department (DFPD) working under the Ministry of Food and Consumer Affairs has tied up with CSC e-Governance. The objective of this agreement is to increase the income of ration shops through delivery of CSC related services through Fair Price Shop Dealers.

It was signed by DFPD’s Deputy Secretary Jyotsna Gupta and CSC Vice President Sarthik Sachdev in the presence of DFPD Secretary Sudhanshu Pandey and CSC Managing Director Dinesh Kumar Tyagi.




What is this agreement

According to the agreement with the CSC e-Governance Service India Inc. to increase the income of the Ministry of Food and the ration shops, additional facility related to the customers such as bill, water and other utility bills will be provided.

Ration shops will be developed as CSC service centers

After the agreement with the Ministry of Food and CSC e-Governance Service India Ltd, ration shops can now be developed as CAAC service centers. Such CSC centers will be asked to select additional services at their convenience. These include bill payment, PAN application, passport application, Election Commission related services etc. These services will be available to the customer at the nearest ration shop and on the other hand these shops will get a means of increasing their income.




80 crore people will benefit

Under the provisions of the National Food Security Act, the Center provides five kilograms of food grains per person per family through ration shops at a very low rate of one to three rupees per kilogram. More than 80 crore people come under this law.
