Income Tax Dates: If you deposit income tax, remember these 5 important dates of the month of June

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has also extended the deadline for several tax compliances under the Income Tax Act 1961 to provide relief to taxpayers.




Income Tax Dates: Due to the difficulties being faced by the income tax payers during the Corona crisis, the date of filing the return has changed many times. The government has recently extended the deadline for filing income tax returns by 2 months. Now it has become 30 September instead of 31 July. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has also extended the deadline for several tax compliances under the Income Tax Act 1961 to provide relief to taxpayers. As per the official circular, the last deadline for filing TDS return (Tax Deducted at Source) is June 30, 2021. According to the Income Tax Department, there are some important dates related to income tax in the month of June, which taxpayers should keep in mind.

June 7, 2021
The Income Tax Department will launch a new e-filing portal (www.incometax.gov.in) on June 7. The new portal will be more user friendly, with many new features added. Deposit amount of tax deducted or collected for the month of May 2021 is due on this date. However, when tax is paid without issue of Income Tax Challan, all amount deducted/collected by a Government office should be paid to the credit of the Central Government on the same day.

The last date for issue of TDS certificate for tax deducted under section 194-1A, section 194-1B and section 194M of the Income Tax Act in the month of April is 14th June.

June 15, 2021
Due date for submission of Form 24G by Government office where TDS/TCS has been paid without issue of challan for the month of May 2021. That is, if the TDS / TCS deducted for May 2021 has been paid without issuing a challan, then in such a situation, the government office will have to submit Form 24G by June 15.

June 29, 2021
If an investment fund has made any transaction in the financial year 2020-21, then its statement under section 9A of the Income Tax Act will have to be e-filed by 29 June 2021.

June 30, 2021
Due date for filing returns for the financial year 2021-21 in respect of Security Transaction Tax. At the same time, under Section 194-1A, Section 194-1B and Section 194M of the Income Tax Act, the last date for submission of challan-cum-statement for tax deducted in the month of May is 30 June 2021.
