Good Friday Long Weekend This year Good Friday is on March 29, 2024 and Saturday is Sunday on March 30-31. In such a situation, the Income Tax Department issued a circular regarding this long weekend. The department has canceled the leaves of all the employees in view of the end of the financial year. This means that all income tax offices will remain open from 29 to 31 March 2024.

Income Tax Department has issued a circular informing that all Income Tax offices will remain open from 29 to 31 March 2024. Actually, the department has taken this decision in view of the end of the financial year.

This time it is Good Friday on 29 March 2024. March 30 is Saturday and March 31 is Sunday. On the other hand, March 31, 2024 is the last day of the current financial year 2023-24, due to which the Income Tax Department has decided to cancel the long weekend.

Let us tell you that if this decision is not taken by the department, then the taxpayer gets only 3 days to complete the tax related work. This week also, due to Holi (Holi 2024), all Income Tax Department offices will remain closed on Monday. In such a situation, this step has been taken by the department to provide convenience to the taxpayers.
