Income Tax Department: The investigation has now progressed in the case of cash worth Rs 50 lakh found inside a car by the Static Surveillance Team (SST) and police during checking at a check post set up at Gohana bypass in Sonipat, Haryana. The Income Tax Department team has issued a notice and sought a reply in the matter.
On Friday, a team of SST was checking vehicles under the guidance of Duty Magistrate Dilbagh Singh and under the leadership of ASI Bijendra posted at City Police Station. During this, when a Creta car was stopped and checked, Rs 50 lakh was found inside it. The car rider identified himself as Surendra, a resident of Bakshi Colony, Jind.
He had told that he had brought the money from Noida, Uttar Pradesh for the registration of a plot. The team had deposited the cash in the treasury and informed the Income Tax Department. Duty Magistrate Dilbagh Singh said that now the Income Tax Department team has sent a notice to Surendra, asking him to respond about the cash. On the other hand, the video of the case has gone viral on social media. It is being discussed that the driver of the car is close to a BJP leader.
