Income Tax Department issued RC to 14 thousand GST defaulters – Details

Income Tax Department in Noida has started cracking down on GST defaulters. So far, RCs of 14925 traders and entrepreneurs have been issued and 2308 bank accounts have been attached. The department has recovered crores of rupees through this action. Principal Secretary State Tax has given instructions to run a state-wide VAT GST outstanding recovery campaign.

Income Tax: The State Tax Department has started cracking down on GST defaulters. So far, RC has been issued to 14,925 traders and entrepreneurs by the State Tax Department. They have dues of Rs 296.15 crore.

2308 bank accounts have been attached, which have an amount of Rs 49 crore. One and a half crore rupees have been collected from the attached accounts. At the same time, action has been taken on Rs 26.08 crore through the GST portal.

Instructions to run GST outstanding recovery campaign

Additional Commissioner II Vivek Arya of the State Tax Department, Gautam Buddha Nagar said that the Principal Secretary State Tax has given instructions to run a state-wide VAT GST outstanding recovery campaign. In this connection, action is being taken against all the VAT and GST defaulters of Gautam Buddha Nagar district by Additional Commissioner State Tax Chandni Singh.

Bank accounts of defaulters will be seized

Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners of all the blocks are busy in finding the outstanding documents, issuing RCs and contacting the defaulters. The department is also recovering the dues by meeting the officials of the concerned bank to seize the bank accounts of such defaulters.

No penalty will be imposed on timely payment

For this work, RCs are being sent to the managers of the traders by Amins after getting information about all their accounts on the basis of PAN number. If the traders and entrepreneurs deposit the outstanding amount on time, then the interest and penalty will be less.
