The Income Tax Department has refunded more than 2.24 lakh crore rupees to 2.37 crore taxpayers from 1 April 2020 to 29 March 2021. In this, Rs. 85,012 crore was returned to 2.33 crore taxpayers under the personal income tax item while Rs. 1.39 lakh crore was returned in 2.85 lakh cases under company tax. If you have not received the IT refund yet, first of all check your email that there has been a notification from the IT department regarding the refund. You can also check the notification by logging into the Income Tax Department’s e-filing portal https://www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/.

These are the reasons for not getting refund

However, tax refund is not always available on time. There are delays in getting refunds due to some reasons. You can check your refund online and find out how much of your refund is made. The most common reason for not getting a refund is the old account. If you have changed your job or changed your salary account, many taxpayers forget to update their account number with the IRS. Due to this, income tax refund can get stuck.




Apart from this, if you have filed your income tax return and have not verified your return then your refund may get stuck. IT returns can be verified through Aadhaar OTP or by sending a copy of your ITR-V to CBC Bangalore.

>> First log on the direct link https://www1.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/e-FilingGS/Services/ORM.html.
>> Enter your name, PAN details, assessment year etc.
>> Write your query in the Description box.
>> You can select the social media type and enter the ID.
>> Fill the CAPTCHA.
>> Click on ‘Submit’ button.

Your ITR refund complaint will be filed online.
