The option to pay tax using credit cards on the income tax portal offers a lot of convenience. It allows instant tax payments. Paying tax using a credit card gives you instant confirmation. Payments using methods like cheque or bank transfer may take time for confirmation.

  • The renewal fee is waived off on spending Rs 7.75 lakh in a year.

6.68 percent of the population filed ITR in FY 2024

Let us tell you that according to the information given in Parliament, less than 7 percent of the population filed income tax returns in FY 2024. Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary said in Parliament that 6.68 percent of India’s population filed income tax returns in FY 2023-24, which shows a total of 8,09,03,315 people filing ITR. He further said that more than 8.09 crore income tax returns were filed in FY 2024, while this number was more than 7.40 crore in FY 2023.
