Team India will have to conduct 2 more tests to start practice from February 2 before the Test series against England. The entire Indian team has already reached Chennai and both teams are staying at the Leela Palace Hotel. Vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane, opener Rohit Sharma, wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha and all-rounder Hardik Pandya have arrived with their family.

An official of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said on condition of confidentiality, ‘The Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) is similar to the IPL bio bubble. One RT PCR test has been done for our players and there are 2 more tests to be done before starting the practice. Now the players will remain in their rooms.

Players will spend this time exercising in their rooms under the supervision of optimization experts Nick Webb and Soham Desai. Apart from this, the BCCI has allowed the players to keep their families with them as they may have to remain very secluded during the tight isolation.
