The notification clearly mentions not keeping notes of restricted denomination and doing business within Nepal only in Nepali currency.

In the notification issued by Nepal Rastra Bank, instructions have been issued to carry only Rs 5,000 in Indian currency while coming to Nepal from India. Which may include notes of Rs 100 or less. In this notification, it has also been said to warn Nepal Customs Office. In the notification, citizens of Nepal are allowed to bring cash up to Rs 25,000 to come to India. Due to medical reasons this amount can be Rs 50 thousand. Nepali citizens can avail similar facilities up to Rs 25 thousand from money changer.
