Mumbai. What did the RBI announce to withdraw 2000 notes, since then many types of questions are arising in the minds of the people. However, the Reserve Bank has clarified by answering all the questions that there is no need to worry more about this. Because 2000 notes will continue as legal tender. At the same time, notes of other denominations are available with the central bank. Meanwhile, it is now being speculated that after the demonetisation of Rs 2000 notes, can there be a return of Rs 1000 notes in the market?

In this regard, RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das had to face many questions on Monday. The RBI governor made his stand clear on this issue as well. On 8 November 2016, the Narendra Modi government had demonetised old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes. Although new notes of 500 rupees came in the market, but instead of 1000 notes, 2000 notes were issued.

RBI Governor gave this answer

Now that the 2000 note is being withdrawn by the Reserve Bank, people are speculating that the 1000 note can be returned. RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das said on Monday that ₹2,000 notes have been withdrawn, but there are no plans to introduce new ₹1,000 notes.

He said, “I assure you, we have more than enough currency notes which have already been printed. These printed notes are not only with RBI but also in currency chests being operated, so there is no need to worry.”

In fact, there is speculation that the decision to withdraw the ₹2000 note may put pressure on the overall money supply. However, RBI has rejected it. Speaking about the deadline of September 30 to exchange Rs 2000 notes, the RBI governor said that a date has been fixed for it so that people take the process seriously and it is not endless.
