It should contain at least 51 percent corn, which is grown in the state of Kentucky located between New Mexico and Texas.
Corn is then mixed with other grains such as wheat or barley. This mixture is ground by a machine. After fermentation, it is distilled. After this, it is kept in oak barrels for maturing for at least two years. Its batter should be distilled at 160 proof or less. The distillate is kept in burnt new oak barrels at 125 proof or less.
