Indian Railways is installing economy AC 3-tier coaches in mail and express trains, whose fare will be cheaper than the normal AC 3-tier, to make travel convenient and cheap for the people. In this financial year, 806 economy coaches are being prepared.
New Delhi. Indian Railways will install 806 Economy AC 3 Tier AC Coaches with cheap fares in many Mail and Express trains in this financial year. Ministry of Railways is preparing economy AC 3 tier AC coaches in various coach factories. As soon as the coaches are ready, they will be installed in the trains. According to Railway Board officials, maximum number of coaches are being manufactured by Integral Coach Factory (ICF).
The Ministry of Railways will make passengers travel in AC class at cheap fares. For this, economy AC 3 tier coaches are being prepared. These coaches will be similar to normal AC 3 Tier AC coaches. Under the scheme, some coaches have been prepared and started to be installed in the train. Now a target has been set to prepare 806 coaches for the financial year 2021-22. 344 coaches are being manufactured in Antigral Coach Factory (ICF), 177 in Rail Coach Factory (RCF) and 285 in Modern Coach Factory (MCF). According to the board official, all coaches will be fitted in trains by March 2021. Apart from this, more economy AC coaches will be made after approval from the board.
Therefore the journey will be cheaper than the normal AC 3 tier, the travel in these coaches will be cheaper than the normal AC 3 tier coach. According to railway officials, the number of berths in economy AC coaches is more. The normal AC 3-tier coach has 72 berths, while it will have 11 more ie 83 berths. For this, the gap between the berths has been reduced a bit by the Railways. According to officials, due to the reduction of the gap, passengers will not be inconvenienced. Apart from this, the length of the side berth has been kept the same.
These facilities are personal light for reading, AC vents, USB point, mobile charging point, better ladder to climb to the upper berth and special type of snack table in the exclusive economy AC 3 tier coach. Along with this, foot operating tabs have been installed in the toilet.
