From time to time, the railways implements some rules for the convenience of its passengers. Now once again a rule has been issued regarding advance ticket booking, which will be effective from today.
Indian Railway: For the convenience of its passengers, Indian Railways starts operating some train from time to time or provides some other kind of facility. There is often some change in the rules of the railways as well. From November 1, i.e. today, another rule has changed which is related to advance ticket booking. This rule was announced by the Railways a few days ago, which has come into effect from today.
Under this new rule, which is applicable from today, now advance tickets can be booked only 60 days in advance. The advance used to be 120 days earlier, which has been reduced by the Railways. Let us tell you how the effect of this rule will be seen. We also tell you why the time for ticket booking has been changed.
New rule of Indian Railways
Indian Railways has abolished the facility of advance ticket booking done 120 days in advance, and has made this period 60 days. According to the railways, many tickets get cancelled during the advance ticket period and 4 to 5 percent of the people do not travel at all. Some passengers book tickets 4 months in advance and do not travel, due to which other needy passengers are not able to get tickets. This is the reason why this period has been reduced to 60 days.
This will be the benefit
Under this rule changed by the Railways in the process of advance ticket booking, an attempt is being made to stop black marketing of tickets. Many times when passengers do not travel after booking the ticket, the possibility of fraud increases, which can be reduced to some extent after the implementation of the new rule. However, some people also have complaints with this new rule because they are not able to get reservation on the occasion of the festival and a lot of crowd is being seen at the station.
What will happen to the tickets that have already been booked
The rule implemented by the Railways is not going to be applicable on tickets already booked. This rule is going to come into effect from today i.e. 1 November, so those who have booked advance tickets till 31 October can travel comfortably. From today, those who want to book advance tickets will have to follow this 60-day rule.
