Even before this, the Ministry has started the work of redevelopment of 508 railway stations, the work on which is going on at a fast pace.

According to the Railway Ministry, under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme in 554 railway stations, there will be improvement in station entry, circulating areas, waiting halls, toilets, lifts, parking areas, increase in platform cover and escalators besides cleanliness, free Wi-Fi, facilities for local people. This includes providing facilities like kiosks. This includes stations from cities to rural areas.

Stations of these major states will be developed

Under the scheme, maximum number of stations are included in Uttar Pradesh at 73, Maharashtra at second place with 56 and Gujarat at third place. Apart from this, in major states, 33-33 railway stations of Bihar and Madhya Pradesh, 21-21 of Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, 27 of Jharkhand, 15 of Haryana, three each of Punjab and Uttarakhand, one each of Haryana and Himachal will be redeveloped. .

The stations to be redeveloped include Meerut City, Mau, Gonda, Malhaur, Bhatni in Uttar Pradesh, Barauni, Siwan, Munger in Bihar, Jabalpur, Indore, Ujjain, Khandwa, Bina in Madhya Pradesh and Ajmer, Pali Marwar, Sanganer and Dholpur in Rajasthan. Railway stations are included.

These stations in the east are being redeveloped

In the east, 508 stations are being redeveloped. Most of the stations in this are from two states. These include 55-55 stations of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Along with this, 49 from Bihar, 44 from Maharashtra, 37 from West Bengal, 34 from Madhya Pradesh, 32 from Assam, 25 from Odisha, 22 from Punjab, 21 each from Gujarat and Telangana, 20 from Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. 18 stations each in Uttar Pradesh, 15 in Haryana and 13 in Karnataka have been included. Apart from this, there are some stations in other states.
