According to the Railway Board, it will add 10,000 non-AC general class General Seating (GS) coaches in the next two years. In which more than six thousand will be GS coaches, while the rest of the coaches will be sleeper class. After which more than eight lakh passengers will benefit from it.

The rate of general ticket starts from 50 rupees, you do not get a confirmed seat in this coach. You should assume that here it is first come first service. That means whoever gets an empty seat can sit. No rule of reservation applies in this coach.
