Those going home on Diwali and Chhath are not getting confirmed tickets in any train. Passengers going in the east direction are facing more problems. Almost all trains have long waiting lists. In this situation festival special trains are the only support. Keeping in mind the problems of the passengers, Northern Railway is announcing festival special trains. 22 pairs of special trains have been announced. In the coming time, some more trains will be announced as per the requirement. Railways is trying to provide convenience to its passengers.
There is no space in any train from October 30 to Chhath to go from Delhi to Patna. Be it Rajdhani or Mail Express, everyone has to take a waiting list ticket. The same is the case with trains going to Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur, Gaya, Ranchi and other cities of Bihar. Seats are also getting filled in the festival special trains announced a few days ago. There is no space in the trains going to Chhapra. However, seats are available on October 28 in the Old Delhi-Chhapra festival special announced on October 13.
Due to corona infection, at present most of the trains are being run by giving special train status. In these, the passenger can travel only by taking a confirmed ticket. Because of this, the passengers are more worried. Before the corona transition, passengers used to travel with waiting list tickets, but now this is not possible.
Northern Railway officials say that most of the long distance trains have started running except local passenger trains on some routes. Despite this, passengers are not getting confirmed tickets in the festival. The crowd of passengers on different routes is being assessed. In order to enable passengers to travel safely, from Dussehra till now, the Northern Railway has announced to run 13 pairs of festival special trains, while nine pairs of trains have been announced for Delhi and adjoining cities of other Zonal Railways. From October 10 to November 20, these trains will make 418 trips. There are preparations to run about 50 festival special trains till Chhath. Most of these will run for Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
