The economy coach of Third AC was launched by the Railways in the year 2021. However, this type of coach has not been installed in all the trains yet. For example, if you have to go from Delhi to Patna, then the fare of Third AC in Sampoorna Kranti Express is Rs 1350. But if you travel in the economy class of Third AC i.e. M coach, then you will have to pay only Rs 1250.
The difference between the third AC economy class coach and normal 3AC is that its berths are slightly smaller than normal. Actually, there are 72 berths in a traditional 3AC coach. But 3 AC economy coach has 80 or more berths.
In the third AC economy coach, passengers get all the facilities that are available in the third AC. Apart from bedsheets and blankets, it has many other special features. The third AC economy coach also has the facility of bottle stand, reading light and charging point. This coach is not available in all trains right now.
The width of the seats in the third AC economy class coach is slightly less, due to which more seats can be installed in the same coach. However, this difference in the width of the seats does not affect the comfort of the passengers much. If you are very tall or need a lot of space, you may face some inconvenience.
