According to the news published in News 18, apart from this, Indian is going to install electric vehicle (EV) charging points in the station premises. This initiative will start from two major stations of Agra division of Northern Railway. The purpose of installing electric vehicle (EV) charging points at Agra Cantonment and Mathura Junction railway stations is to provide convenience to the passengers coming to drop or pick up relatives or friends. Passengers will be able to easily charge their electric vehicle (EV) in the station premises without any hassle.
People coming to pick up passengers will not have to face any problem
With the facility of charging point available at the station itself, people coming to pick up or drop off passengers will not have to face any problem. These charging points to be started at the station will be operational 24X7. This will help in increasing the use of electric vehicles and reducing the level of pollution. The aim of this effort of Indian Railways is to increase revenue apart from ticket fare and reduce things that harm the environment.
Charging facility at these charging stations will be available at a lower cost as compared to the market. This will benefit the general public and will also help in saving the environment.
