New Delhi: Indian Railways Latest News : The Vande Bharat Express Train will now be run as Tejas Express from 15 February to 31 March. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given the green signal to this first semi-high speed train made in India in 2019. In a letter written on 10 February, Northern Railway stated, “The Railway Board has given permission to run the New Delhi-Varanasi-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express from 15 February to 31 March”.
Vande Bharat train for maintenance
The Vande Bharat train running between New Delhi to Varanasi will withdraw from service for 45 days. Confirming this, a Northern Railway official said that the train will be operated only by Indian Railways and there will be no difference in fares. Indian Railways is currently operating four pairs of trains under Tejas Express services, which was started three years ago. Two of these, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus-Karmali Tejas Express and Chennai Egmore-Madurai Junction Tejas Express are run by Indian Railways.
Now three Tejas trains will run for 45 days
The remaining two Tejas trains Lucknow-New Delhi Tejas Express and Mumbai Central-Ahmedabad Tejas Express operate IRCTC. With the inclusion of the New Delhi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express as Tejas Express, Indian Railways will now operate three Tejas Express trains. Railways started another Vande Bharat Express train between Delhi and Katra on October 5, 2019. According to officials – Vande Bharat train is being sent for maintenance / service, so this train will be replaced by Tejas Express between New Delhi-Varanasi for 45 days.
