If you are also one of those people who go to the station before the train time, then be careful. Because for doing so you may have to pay a fine.
Indian Railways has made people’s travel much easier. Many rules have also been made to ensure that they do not have to face any kind of problem. It is the responsibility of all passengers to follow railway rules. But if you violate it, a fine has to be paid. You must be aware of many such rules, but do you know that Railways has made such a rule, if the payment is not made, you can get stuck. Even if you don’t have a ticket. You might be wondering what such rule is.
Let us tell you that if you have taken a train ticket and are waiting for a train on the platform, then a time limit has been fixed for how long you have to wait. However, this timing is different for night and day trains. Therefore, whenever you have to travel by train, you must follow this rule. Let us know in detail about this unique rule of Railways.
How long can you wait for the train on the platform?
If your train is on time, you can come to the platform two hours before. If the train is at night, then you can reach 6 hours before and wait at the station. No fine will be imposed. But if you have reached the station before 6 hours, TTE may charge you a fine. Please note that if the train is very late, there is a possibility of change in the time limit.
Platform ticket required-
If you are forced to spend more time at the station than the interval, then you will have to buy a platform ticket. With this ticket you can spend the whole day on the platform. Even TTE will not be able to recover money from you. But if you do not do this, you may have to suffer huge losses.
Why was this rule made?
The purpose of making this rule is to reduce crowd of passengers on the platform. Many people come and stand at the station to pass time, while some people spend hours here on the pretext of dropping off their close ones. Due to which there is crowding at the station. Let us tell you that people who board the night train can spend 6 hours on the platform in view of their safety. They are not allowed to stay here longer than this. Whereas if a passenger deboarding a long distance train is waiting for another train, he can stay on the platform only for two hours.
