Indian Railways: Many people travel in long distance trains to General Kamara for a long time. This time the concerned department is thinking of a special train for them. New train services will be introduced with special non-AC compartments. Know the details.
Indian Railways: Railways is going to take special steps considering low income passengers. The Railway Department is planning to run special long-distance trains with non-AC rooms for workers in states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, West Bengal and Jharkhand. These new non-AC long distance trains will connect those states with parts of major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Surat, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai. Workers generally travel to these destinations for work.
According to a news agency report, the railways is planning to start the service of this new train by the first half of 2024 itself. Routes to destinations with high passenger volume will be evaluated along with data analysis of ticket demand. Based on that, it will be determined on which routes these new trains will provide benefits to the passengers.
In this regard, a railway official said, the railway departments are gradually expanding their capacity to increase more train movements. About 20000 km of new railway tracks have been laid during the last nine years. More new trains with modern technology will be launched across the country in the coming days. Keeping workers in mind, these new routes will be introduced in those areas of the country where a large proportion of people commute regularly for work. Incidentally, special Shramik Express was run on these same routes during the Covid pandemic. Its purpose was to bring the out-of-work workers back to their own state.
Apart from increasing the train services, the railway authorities are also going to pay special attention to the convenience and safety of the passengers. Under that plan 20000 old ICF coaches still in active service will be replaced by modern LHB coaches in service. They can provide relatively more protection. Also in next 4-5 years technology of “plugged doors” will be introduced with every room. Until these special doors are closed, the train will not start. This new door technology will basically help to avoid accidents. Also, when an emergency situation arises, the state-of-the-art doors will automatically open. So that passengers can exit the room safely.
Incidentally, various companies already offer low-cost airline services. Similarly, Indian Railways is planning to provide services to passengers at low cost through modern technology. Experts feel that it is very important for Indian Railways to take such an initiative keeping in mind the passengers of the common room. Because the number of passengers in this class is maximum in the train.
